Uber expands older accounts across the country because giants rideshare focus on old riders

Giants rideshare Uber and Lyft Race is being held to capture a new segment of riders: the elderly.

Both companies, in recent months, have been testing their own services, taking into account the elderly, which include additional security features, supporting the phone and simplified interfaces, so it is easier to move.

But on Wednesday, Uber, which still has a much larger market share, has expanded its version – named by senior accounts – all over the country a month after the test launch in Phoenix and Orlando.

A service that will be integrated into the Uber family profile is described as a simplified application version. It offers wider text, less buttons and easy screens, Briana Gilmore, global head of Uber accessibility policy, Fox Business said.

Older accounts have a feature called Save Lats, which will allow users to press frequent directions such as the house or in the doctor’s office rather than enter the address. Because the accounts are included in the family profile function, other accounting participants can book rides, change your settings, refer to the driver and keep track of real -time travel to get updates.

Gilmor acknowledged that the industry lacked the needs of the old riders.

“Transportation is indeed one of the biggest barriers to independence as we age as an age of all of us,” Gilmor said. “This is a barrier to health care. Access to healthy foods in your grocery store, the opportunity to pick up a recipe or a prescription medicine and just staying in touch with your family. We want to be helping to fill this gap for older adults, realizing that they are more likely to be isolated.

According to Gilmore, Uber simultaneously rolled out a “stripped” decision for all the elderly who tried the platform for the first time. A simple mode found in the application account section aimed at old users who still want complete control over the account, but the same streamlined interface.

Gilmore described this as “a simplified version of the application, all the same great security options, but actually developed version. Less buttons, a larger text, a more orderly approach.”

Uber started testing both services in early May, when Lyft started testing its own feature, an orderly version of its application called “Lyft Silver”.

Lyft, who has expressed only 25,000 people since May, stated that he had arranged the service to emphasize the main things. Riders will receive the support of the phone live and will be able to share the details of its attractions with reliable contacts, Lyft said. It will also prefer the appropriate riders with vehicles that are easier to enter and get out.

In the race to dominate the trip, both large companies quickly deploy similar services. Both introduced the shuttle options, expanded pickups at the airport, travel planning and the “Castle Castle”, which helps the riders to avoid the cost of overstress – for the fee. They are also working on the integration of autonomous vehicles into their platforms.
