Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has commented on Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the second innings of the second Test against the Australian national cricket team. He said that the right hand has serious technical defects and there is no way to eliminate them.
Virat Kohli, who scored a terrific century in the first Test in Perth, failed in both the innings of the ongoing Adelaide match. In both the innings, the top batsman was clueless as the Australian pacers were all over him and made life tough for him. It seemed only a matter of time for him to strike in the second essay.
Virat Kohli was tested by Scott Boland in the second innings
While it was Mikel Stark who got the better of him in the first round, it was Scott Boland who removed him in the second term. The right-arm pacer was consistently out in the channel and troubled Kohli throughout his stay in the second innings.
Kohli eventually got a delivery from Scott Boland that was caught by the keeper Alex Carey. A brilliant batsman completely tested in his spell by the fast bowler and then finally returned at the hut for 11 runs off 21 balls. He managed just 7 runs in the first innings.
With the monkey off his bat, you’d expect Virat Kohli to look much more relaxed and in better shape – Sanjay Manjrekar
Sanjay Manjrekar talked about Kohli’s innings and noted that the batsman’s technique to counter the outside line made life difficult for him. He also added that he expected the batsman to score a ton and bat freely in the last game. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, he said:
“I don’t have a strong opinion about Virat Kohli. I’m just, you know, telling the truth or the facts that I see in front of me. And that’s what I’ve said before. It’s a technique that’s developed for it. line outside of any ball movement basically did not make his life easier.
“When he got that 100 in the last game, you know, I thought, well, let’s see if it’s just the lack of runs contributing to his mistakes. Now with the monkey off his shirt, you’d expect Virat. Kohli is very more relaxed and you know you look in better shape.”
He has this serious technical issue that he just can’t find a solution to – Sanjay Manjrekar on Virat Kohli
Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that Kohli’s flurry from the same line showed that he had a technical problem that he just couldn’t find a solution to. He elaborated:
“But obviously it was a problem with no runs before and a technical problem. But after getting 100, he was troubled by the same line, it showed that he had this serious technical problem that he had to find a solution to.” can’t.”
Virat Kohli will now be looking for a strong comeback in the next game. In the ongoing match, India are in huge trouble with the loss of 5 wickets and 29 runs in the bank. Rishabh pants and Nitish Kumar Reddywho were on edge, hoping to eliminate the deficit and raise the goal of the war.
