Your phone can detect the amount of light in your surroundings and adjust the brightness of the screen, helping to combat eye strain and making the screen a little easier to see. But sometimes, auto-brightness is a less-than-useful feature.
The problem may be that the screen automatically dims even when you are in the sun. If you’re partially in the shade, your phone may be tricked into automatically dimming the screen, even if it doesn’t need to. This can make it difficult to see what’s on the screen. If you manually increase the brightness, it will decrease again due to auto brightness. Fixing this problem isn’t always as easy as turning off the necessary settings, but this is a good place to start.

First, turn off auto-brightness

Don’t let your iPhone overheat
