Veteran actress Kate Linder is anything but restless.
Starred in the storied soap opera “The young and the restless“For more than four decades, Linder has been an anomaly in Hollywood — she has a legitimate second career as a flight attendant, a job she keeps for accountability.
“It’s really interesting because one day I’m on set, the next day I’m doing this Hollywood Christmas parade, and then I’m serving coffee at 35,000 feet,” Linder said. Us weekly Sunday of his typical schedule. “You don’t forget who you are. It grounds you.”

The actress, now 77, joined the show in 1982 as an unnamed assistant and confidant to the late actress Jean Cooper’s character Katherine Chancellor. In 1985 Linder was given a contract and a name for her role – Esther Valentine – thanks to Cooper using the name in rehearsals.

Appeared in over 2,000 episodes and made himself a star Hollywood Walk of Fame In 2008, Linder had no inertia.
“Sometimes I see a lot of people who believe their own press,” he shared. “I feel very fortunate to do what I do. I wanted to do this. No one in my family was in the business, so it was always like taking one step forward and two steps back, and yet, how lucky am I and how fortunate?”

That is why she is still working as a flight attendant United Airlines, There she says, yes, she gets recognized sometimes.
“I was standing at the gate to get on the plane, and this lady saw me and she said, “Kate Linder? No, you’re not,” she recalled. “And I said, ‘I was there when I woke up. So something is wrong. I don’t know what went wrong.’ She couldn’t believe I was going to work on that plane. And she ended up on that plane.”

In 2022, Linder described her initial apprehension about revealing her work as a flight attendant. “Initially, I didn’t tell anyone because I thought they would take me less seriously as an actress,” she said. Closer Weekly. “But, as the years went by, I would meet viewers on the plane and have these amazing stories. I thought I would do them until I could do both jobs well.”
Having played the same role for several decades, Linder said he never knew how monotonous each day seemed. “It’s like real life because you don’t know what’s going to happen when you wake up in the morning, I don’t know what Esther is going to do, what’s going to happen or what’s going to happen. I’m always excited to read the scripts and find out.
